When You're Here...
- Students can come to the library before and after school just by coming directly here, without a pass from a teacher.
During school hours, students need to have passes from wherever they are coming from. Most of the time, sixth graders visit the library from Literacy Workshop and with their classes. Seventh and Eighth grade students come with their classes as well, and they also sometimes come from study halls or labs.
All students must sign in and out of the library at the circulation desk when they come in before, during and after school.
- With a Class: When you come to the library with your class, you will most likely be receiving some direct instruction from the librarian and your teacher, and also using the library resources for research and learning. Unless you're told otherwise, when you come to the library with a class, you should go over to the teaching area on the left and wait there.
- On Your Own: When you come to the library from Lit Workshop, study hall or lab, or before or after school, you can use the library for anything library or school related that is quiet and respectful of those around you. You are welcome to check out a book, read in the comfy red chairs, or do homework at a study table. You can also use the library computers for homework, schoolwork or research. You're welcome to meet with a partner or group for a school project as long as you remember to work quietly!
